Welcome

Our son Parker was born in 2005. At age 3 we suspected he had a form of Autism. After many months of testing we received the diagnosis Pervasive Developmental Disorder which is listed on the Autism Spectrum as one of the five forms of Autism. Parkers treatments became delayed because the Insurance Company we had created a mountain of red tape. Finally in desperation Parkers mother Kelly asked me if I could organize a benefit to create a Medical Fund to help us begin the treatments. I asked a few of my band friends and they came together to perform at Parker’s Benefit. The event was such a success that we began to talk about the possibility of doing it again to help other children. In the meantime Parker began his treatments at The Cincinnati Center for Autism. Kelly and I got to know the Director Amanda Sparks very well. I began discussing with Amanda our Idea for Autism Rocks and how we could best use the money we raised. It was decided that we would create a Scholarship fund that the Board of Directors at The Center for Autism would distribute through application process to Families in need who could not afford the cost of treatments for their children.

That was the birth of Rockin For Autism! Every year the first Sunday after the Super Bowl we hold the event. The event begins at 1 PM on Sunday February 12, 2012.The event lasts until 8 PM at which time we will gather everyone to make a check presentation to the Director and Staff of the Cincinnati Center for Autism, a therapy treatment center for autistic individuals.
